Yangzhou Dayang Shipyard delivered the LPG carrier GAZ SYNERGY to Naftomar, Greece

12 Jul 2010

In May 2010, Yangzhou Dayang Shipyard delivered the LPG carrier GAZ SYNERGY to Naftomar, Greece. The gas carrier's cargo handling system was designed and delivered by TGE Marine Gas Engineering and assembling and pre-commissioning took place under close supervision of TGE’s experts.

From the building yard in China, GAZ SYNERGY sailed to Cyprus via Singapore where the TGE team was picked up in Limassol after a long journey. Afterwards, GAZ UNITY, a mother ship of Naftomar’s LPG fleet was met in international waters. Instead of berthing at a terminal, the gas trial was carried out by Ship-to-Ship (STS) – transfer at open sea, receiving the LPG supply from GAZ UNITY. After successful trials without any troubles GAZ SYNERGY headed for Libya to take its first commercial cargo.

The ship is the first unit in a series of three ships which are currently being built by Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group in line with Naftomar’s fleet modernization programme.

GAZ SYNERGY will sail under the flag of Panama and is classed by Bureau Veritas. With an overall length of 138 m, a breadth of 21.60 m and a cargo capacity of 16,500 cbm, the ship can carry LPG as well as ammonia, propylene, butane and vinyl chloride monomer.
