Another three gas carrier projects completed.

20 Oct 2010

10/20/2010 – Another three gas carrier projects completed. The quick succession of completed gas carrier projects continues:

Last summer another three gas carriers were delivered by different building yards and gas trials were successfully completed under the supervision of TGE’s engineers:

“ESHIPS SHAMAL” the last of two 6,500cbm LPG carriers completed its gas trial at the end of July 2010 at Yeosu terminal, Korea, under close supervision of TGE Marine's experts to the full satisfaction of owner, shipyard and classification society DNV. The vessel was built at STX Offshore Shipbuilding Co.Ltd in co-operation with TGE Marine Gas Engineering for UAE ship-owner EShips.

The 17,000 cbm Ethylene carrier “GASCHEM ANTARCTIC” was delivered by the German MEYER YARD. She is the  last ship in a series of four gas carriers ordered by the German Shipowner HARPAIN Reederei and was completed within the last two years. The gas trial of “GASCHEM ANTARCTIC” was carried out at Furairah, UAE, in August 2010, where the gas plant performance was successfully tested with Ethylene cargo. The ship will be operated within the Hamburg based GASCHEM Pool. Crewing will be arranged by Hartmann Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG.

At the beginning of October 2010 TGE succesfully commissioned 16,500 m³ LPG–Carrier “GAZ ENERGY”' for the Greek owner Naftomar. Trials were carried out after Ship-to-Ship transfer with Commercial Propane in the waters of Cyprus. Due to excellent preparation of the gas handling system, all machinery started at the push of a button which resulted in a quick and highly efficient gas trial. Immediately after the trial, the vessel headed to its first port of loading in the Mediterranean Sea. “GAZ ENERGY” is the second vessel after “GAZ SYNERGY' in a series of three, built by the Chinese Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group, with TGE’s scope comprising the delivery of the entire gas handling system including cargo tank material packages. The last vessel will be delivered by the building yard before the end of the year.
