Michael Alexander, Chairman of the Board BSc 1st class Hons. Chemical Engineering – Manchester University MSc Process Control Engineering – Manchester University F.I.Chem Eng; F.I.GEM; F.I.E&T; C.Eng; C.Sci.
Mr. Alexander’s career began in 1966 at BP Plc where he held various management posts across the company, including leadership of oil & gas exploration projects. In 1991, he joined British Gas Plc as Commercial Director of British Gas Exploration & Production Ltd. In 1994, Mr. Alexander became Managing Director of British Gas Trading which he led for 7 years. Towards the end of his tenure he created and delivered the Goldfish credit card. In 1997, British Gas Plc became Centrica Plc and in 2002 he was appointed as Centrica’s Chief Operating Officer, and also Chairman of Goldfish Bank. In 2003, Mr. Alexander was appointed chief executive of British Energy Group Plc. Here he devised and led a complex operational and financial recovery. He is also chairman of the Association of Train Operating Companies, a non-executive director of Costain Group Plc, the UK’s Payments Council and a former non-executive director of Associated British Foods plc. Alfred Thyll, Member of the Board Deloitte & Touche GmbH
Combined Masters Degree in Economics and Business Administration from Ruhr-University Bochum.
Mr. Thyll joined the Supervisory Board of TGE in March 2008 as an independent director. He is currently a partner at Deloitte & Touche Germany, and has worked for Deloitte & Touche in both Germany and the US, principally for manufacturing and engineering clients. Mr. Thyll is a qualified German tax advisor (StB), a member of the Institute of Auditors (IDW) and a specialist advisor and author on issues regarding German and US accounting standards. William Wyatt, Member of the Board Director Caledonia Investments plc.
Mr. Wyatt worked for Close Brothers Corporate Finance before joining Caledonia in 1998 as project manager for Sterling Industries. He transferred to the investment team in 2000 as an investment executive and was appointed an associate director in 2002 and an executive director in April 2005. Mr. Wyatt became a non-executive Director of TGE in 2006 when Caledonia acquired a majority stake in the Company.
