On August 14th, 2020 the ‘ENGIE ZEBRUGGE’ a 5,100 m³ state of the art LNG bunker vessel has undertaken the first LNG ship-to-ship transfer operation in the port of Emden (Niedersachsen / Germany). During this prestigious operation about 1,500 tons of LNG were transferred to the LNG fueled Car Carrier ‘SIEM CONFUCIUS’.
The successful LNG bunkering operation in a German seaport again underlines the safety and reliability of the vessel. The LNG bunker vessel which has been equipped with a cargo storage- and handling system as well as a LNG fuel gas system by TGE Marine has been operational as one of the first purpose built LNG bunker vessels, since 2017 for Gas4Sea, a consortium under the members ENGIE, NYK and Mitsubishi.
