Innovations for Greener Shipping

Innovations for Greener Shipping - another milestone in the development of lower emission fuel gas systems

The newly patented system applies to cryogenic liquids but has been specifically developed for LNG fuel gas supply system applications.

The newly patented system applies to cryogenic liquids but has been specifically developed for LNG fuel gas supply system applications.

In order for LNG fuel gas to be fed to consumers it first needs to be vaporised and heated, and this heat needs to be made available on the ship.
Applying the newly patented TGE Marine application enables potential cost and emission savings as well as overall efficiency improvements of up to 25% by heat-integrating systems of opposing energy demands where the low temperature cooling demand (for instance air conditioning) on the ship does not suffice.

Beside the low temperature cooling system, a high temperature heating source which cools other ship systems, e.g. a cooling water system available on board of the ship cooling its engines, can be integrated in solely one combined heat exchanger, thereby providing maximum flexibility, safe operations, significant electrical power savings and consequently considerable reductions in operational costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
